A leading company, Rory Mackie & Associates, is currently seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide expert care for frail older adults in a supportive retirement village setting in Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and assess the physical and emotional needs of frail older adults; design personalized therapy plans to enhance their daily living skills.
- Implement innovative therapeutic activities that promote the mental and physical well-being of residents.
- Provide caregiver education and support to families and staff, ensuring the best possible care for residents.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and review care plans and participate in case conferences.
- Monitor and document residents’ progress, making necessary adjustments to therapy plans as required.
Requirements
- Qualification: Relevant degree or qualification in Occupational Therapy, registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
- Experience: Prior experience working with older adults in a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
- Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Knowledge: Understanding of geriatric care practices and relevant legislation.
💰 Salary Insight
Estimated Salary Range: R25,000 – R35,000 per month.
